Talk about a streaky player.

He went toe-to-toe in the final with Felix Auger-Aliassime, who might’ve had the “luckiest” journey to the finals:

• 2 opponents retired

• 3 wins

Is he the luckiest man alive? Maybe.

But at least Felix owned this like a pro. He acknowledged his situation was more rare than a holographic Charizard card - trust me, that’s rare.

Final Score: Rubweh wins 4-6, 7-5, 7-5

On the women’s side, the Iga & Aryna rivalry is becoming legendary. The final was less barbaric, but just as entertaining.

Sabalenka’s groundstrokes looked sharper than a thumbtack, and Swiatek moved around the court like she was moonwalking on clay. It was like watching two Jedi trading blows with oversized tennis rackets.

Swiatek saved 3 match points before watching Sabalenka’s final backhand sail past the baseline. This win gave miss “SLAY”tek her sweet revenge over Sabalenka, securing her 20th career title.

Predictions for Rome Masters 1000

The second half of the clay court swing is upon us.

Competition in Rome starts this week and Novak Djokovic still hasn’t won a title in 2024. This is unfamiliar territory for most of us.. but Rome is very familiar for the Djoker.

Novak lifted the trophy in Rome 6x already and I predict he’ll be lifting it once again this year.

On the ladies side, it’s hard not to pick Iga Swiatek.

She’s rolling into Rome with an 88% career win percentage on clay. This is her best surface, and we DO NOT bet against Iga on her best surface.
